My Philosophy
I believe that childhood is a time to seek, explore, investigate and imagine. It is a time for children to take joy in learning about who they are as individuals and the world around them.
I believe that families are the most significant and influential educators and thus working collaboratively with them enriches children’s lives and learning.
I believe that the early childhood environment should be a warm welcoming place that reflects the values, interests and abilities of the families and children who attend the service.
I believe that caring, trusting relationships are of top priority in early childhood education and that children learn best when they feel valued, respected, safe and secure.
I believe that it is my job as an educator to be a co-learner with the child, helping to guide, stimulate and challenge thinking.
I believe that play is the means by which children can explore, identify, negotiate, take risks and create meaning. Through play children can build relationships, learn to resolve conflicts, negotiate and regulate their behaviours.
It is my aim to create an environment where children can laugh, play and have fun. An environment where they can learn through active discovery. An environment where they feel safe, valued and connected to others through meaningful relationships.
